grow your blog! welcome!

Welcome to my familiar readers, followers, friends, and newcomers alike :D a big thank you to vicki for organizing this grow your blog party:)

My name is Jennifer and,
January CQ block
in this blog I write a bit about different art I create - embroidery, textile, thread work, and the like.
I am presently working on the crazy quilt challenge for 2014, a block a month -
this is January's block in progress....

also, for my son's birthday last week, a needlefelted hippo reading a Happy Birthday card - needle felting is one of my favorite art forms...I love animals...

I like working with natural fibers - wool, cotton, and sometimes silk...they are all gifts from God... and seeing what can be made with simple beginnings.

 I am the mother of two greatly loved and most precious adults, a son and a daughter; am divorced and we all live with my father, who graciously and loving welcomed us 20 years ago.....I work to take care  of his house, yard and two long haired dachshunds... and to sell through my etsy shop when I can Thank you for visiting! I am thankful if you'd like to follow, too :)
and my inspiration and life is the Word of God - because these are His hands, and how could this earthen vessel possibly create anything, but that He is the strength of it all, and to Him be the Glory~

  1. good to learn more about you on this posting, you are very talented with the needle felting, a lovely hippo and it tickled me to see he is reading a book. Looking at your Bible quote on the crazy piece I cannot decide whether it is stitched or printed onto the fabric.

    Oh that hippo.... that hippo... I just love him up. I was on a train trip across Canada last year and there was a girl making the most wonderful wee felt animals. It was a joy to watch her creations come to life.
