sayonara first imac

Two weeks ago our dear 2004 imac was shut down...and did not wake up.  FROM January 2004, until the end of November 2014, it was used every single day....went through a lot  with us, and navigated the Web even though it was no longer supported by browsers.

I truly thank GOD for its continued use all these years.

Now we are using a tablet in the meantime...an android...I miss mac os :(  but I do get to use This!  Hooray!

So just updating the blog with this news...cannot upload photos etc without a computer so we will just wait :)
Continuing to praise  GOD for who HE is

Love to all my blog friends!

Colors of Christmas Wrap

the Colors of Christmas Wrap!  I crocheted and designed it myself...or rather, using what my heavenly Father provided and gave me - He maketh my fingers to move for His glory.  There are more photos on ravelry if anyone is interested :)

I received the following in a newsletter and want to share it here:

There are things to do tomorrow and the next day and
the next, but we can’t do them until we get there.
Worry is borrowing tomorrow’s troubles. The only time
we can really live and be faithful to God is right now. If
we are faithful each moment as we live, we will always be
faithful until He comes. I need this divine truth as much
as you do. Why waste today worrying about tomorrow
and miss the opportunities we have serve the Lord now?

Jesus said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall
take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the
evil thereof” (Matthew 6:33-34).

nearing the finish

Hello!  my!! these few months have flown, so  I am determined to press on again with blog posts!

I have been crocheting several items, needle felting a bit, landscaping and gardening (outside of course), and finishing up this year's crazy quilt journal project!!  it is a bday present for my dear daughter, so it must be finished speedily!

Will be posting the oct and nov blocks soon, but here is a taste of december -
I  drew a dachshund riding a horse and embroidered it :)

more to follow!

we can't pay, so He paid for us - will you accept His payment so that you may have life, and be reconciled to the Father? That is the choice - please do not refuse so great a salvation.

shawl, cloak of ascents

crocheted leaf dangles edging

more leaf dangles edging

pattern link here  main shawl body, before edging

In August I have been crocheting this shawl~ it has been a challenge and I have learned a lot.  Am finishing up the leaf dangle details, then the final edging around the main body, then blocking...then wearing!

I call it my "cloak of ascents", because I think of the different Psalms of Ascent which were sung on the ascent to Jerusalem, it is thought originally, but now can be sung and read always!  I love the Word of God!
"In the Old Testament there are fifteen psalms called the "Psalms of Ascent," which together make up one of the most precious and beautiful portions of the Bible. These psalms were to be sung when the children of Israel came to Jerusalem and ascended to the top of Mount Zion three times a year, where they would hold a feast before the Lord. The physical ascent of the Israelites up Mount Zion is a type, or a picture, of the spiritual ascent of Christian believers through their growth in life and experience. " excerpt from this blog (not an endorsement of the site, but a nice explanation ;)

remember mercy

two little bunnies I crocheted from a pattern I found on ravelry

oh how we are quick to cry out for righteous justice against others, when we ourselves want mercy......

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.  luke 18:13-14

Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name. psalm 119:32

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. matthew 5:44-45

posting to Tokyo

I am ready to send off the block I made for the NHK sponsored "Partnership Quilt", part of the Tokyo  International Great Quilt Festival, which occurs every year in January.  This is the first year I am participating, and it is thanks to Queenie that I first heard about it, and was encouraged to participate :)

I lived two different times in Japan, did several years of business (in my younger years) flying back and forth between the USA and Japan, and have a very very dear love for Japan and the Japanese.

the theme this year is "Cute".....what came first to my mind was dandelions and a particular fabric I have with dandelions on it....

can you see the bits of dandelion puffs?

last year there were 10,519 blocks received, and 82 quilts made and auctioned off for charity ...I am so honored to be a part of this enterprise.

To God be the glory :)

The quote on the quilt is
 1 John 4:10
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

June in July

June's CQJP block..posting in July :)  July's block photos are soon come!~

I have been participating in the Crazy Quilt Journal Project 2014 and participated in 2013 as well.  It has been a great help to me in practicing embroidery, organizing & planning, and (in my personal blocks)  meditating upon God and His Word - which inspires what I work on and what I do.

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him..." hebrews 2:3

Speaking of time,  do not neglect so great a salvation as is offered by Almighty God in His Son Jesus Christ.  How to stand in front of God and pay for our sins - we cannot.  We cannot even pay for one....we will be paying for sin under the wrath of God for eternity!  Please while to day is today, please turn to Christ Jesus and be saved~

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. romans 15:13

(ps I will gladly step up and speak out, that is why He has me here.)  :D

I like brightness

I have been crocheting granny blocks as a means of learning more crochet stitches, using yarn remaining from different projects...

and have forgotten to post them here~ so here are some I have worked on!  :)  enjoy!

(top pattern: Catalina Afghan Square by Julie Yeager )
(middle : Drop in the Bucket Square by Janie Herrin)
(bottom: Flower Tile Afghan Square by Marta Chrzanowska)
all are free patterns available on ravelry ~ yarn used is Drops Cotton-Merino by GarnStudio

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.  hebrews 1:3-4

it is all about Jesus, from beginning to end

pressing onward

Crocheting along, pressing onward to finish the skirt!

The Brown (Doe) yarn is Knit Picks Comfy Fingering (75% Pima Cotton, 25% Acrylic ) and the other colors are all Safran yarn (combed, long, Egyptian cotton fibers) by DROPS, Garn Studio...I prefer the Garn yarn just a bit, it holds up well during crocheting...the knit picks yarn has gotten a bit  "used" looking - but blocking should solve all that, no? ;)

"...send Lazarus..." luke 16:24
"..."if they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded,
through one rose from the dead." luke 16:31 KJV

For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.
Because we understand our fearful responsibility to the Lord, we work hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere, and I hope you know this, too.   2 corinthians 5:10-11 New Living Translation

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. KJV

skirting along

This is a skirt I have been working on, and as of last week it is approximately 20% done - here you can see the bottom two rows completed (working from the bottom up).

Over the last few days I have progressed through one more row!  Will be posting those tomorrow if possible.

May you know the One who Created you, and longs to bring you back to Him through His Son Jesus Christ :)  He is able ~

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. john 12:32

Cool Chèche

A Cool (summer weather, cool cotton/rayon) Shawl I crafted over the past two weeks!  It is a lovely pattern, easy to follow, available in the original French, and also an English translation.  The links may be found here on ravelry .

Big thank you to Katia64 for designing and sharing the pattern.

info on my version of the shawl is on ravelry as well

I was able to see someone very very special this week, that we had not seen for 12 years - I am so thankful to Almighty God for this wonderful blessing.  My heart is filled with love and joy, and though I miss this person so very terribly, these afflictions are so temporary, eternity is forever - which is why knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is more than a life or death question, it is a decision about where you have chosen to spend eternity....with Christ?...or with God's wrath....for eternity.

Please choose life in Christ! He and He alone paid for all your, my, the world's sins -

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 john 5:11-13
