Together

Christmas reminds us
that God's promises
never fail -
He came to us,
to provide the way.
for us to be,
together forever with Him
right now

But God, who is rich in mercy,
for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us
together with Christ,
(by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together
in heavenly places
in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he might shew
the exceeding riches of his grace
in his kindness
toward us
through Christ Jesus    ephesians 2:4-7

Merry Christmas!~! every single day :)

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. romans 15:13

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 1 peter 1:8

Little Bear

"...Sin is powerful, even for those who have been reborn.
Grace, however, is more powerful still
This is a true and trustworthy saying, that Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of which I am the chief
 (I Timothy 1:15).
To diminish the power of grace is to diminish the scope of our own sin. Jesus, after all, didn’t come to save the polite, well-behaved people. He came to save His own, and gave them first repentant hearts."    blog by rc sproul jr

why do I keep drumming the message of Christ Jesus?  because I know that without Jesus Christ as Saviour there is no life, and only the wrath of God awaits those who reject Him,  and that eternity is forever, and each and every one of us will stand before Lord Jesus Christ (even those who don't believe now),
and that the folks I love through  embroidery and blogging must realize we all need the Saviour! what I am called to do - PREACH the gospel : "...we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 corinthians 5:20-21

A Couple More Ornaments

Actually every day is Christmas and I can celebrate, every single day...why postpone His JOY, that ever lives? :D  I do however, take down the Christmas tree after New Year's ;) more room for celebrating :)

And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. isaiah 25:9

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. luke 2:30-32

with Thanksgiving

another ornament...this one was supposed to be  a chicken...but looks more like a turkey methinks

I enjoyed the embroidery, beading and picot - making...

and am so thankful, for so much...
in fact, when I count all my blessing from God, there is no room for the worry  which unceasingly seeks to creep in...

but cannot,

when I praise His Holy name, in Thanksgiving :D

Ornaments! Advent and Christmas

it has a been a while since my last post, but I have time to publish a few ornaments I recently made ~

perhaps one will inspire you to make some too :)

For this ornament, I cut 2 hexagons (approx. 4 inches wide); one of gingerbread colored felt, and the other a bit larger (to include seams) of small red and white gingham  -

embellishing the felt top with beads, lace, ribbon, a bit of embroidery -

then, started to sew it all up with pearl cotton and beads...stuffing with wool as I went, and sewing in some ribbon at the top for hanging...and added little mulberry paper roses at the top.

Luke 1:4  That thou mightest know the certainty of those things wherein thou hast been instructed.

the return......

.....to blogging and embroidery and challenges!

it has been just a few months since the last post.......over 100 boxes (!) that had been in family storage for  13 years, were dropped off all at once, here at home in June.....OH MY!  this certainly interrupted my stream of blogging (slow stream though it was), embroidery, etsy listings, etc.!

The storage box unpacking, selling items on ebay, and general putting away continues!  but can I manage to continue blogging and embroidering too?  stay tuned :)
Here is the Crazy Quilt Journal Challenge block for June:

πρωτεύω (prōteuō)

                                                      preeminence chart

I have listed this chart in the etsy shop, and am writing this so that the verses used can be read by all - how wonderful God's Word is :)

("Preeminence" in Greek letters/πρωτεύω (prōteuō) )

                                                          πρωτεύω

Giving thanks unto the Father...who hath delivered
us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us
into the kingdom of his dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through his blood,
even the forgiveness of sins:
Who is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn of every creature:
For by him were all things created,
that are in heaven, and that are in earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones, or
dominions, or principalities, or powers:
all things were created by him, and for him:
And, he is before all things, and by him all things consist
And he is the head of the body, the church:
who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;
that in all things he might have
the preeminence.
colossians 1:12-18

it is finished!

Hello!  have not had a chance to post in several weeks, but one item I have been working on is finished!!   In the photo you see a part of a quilt I made for my daughter......I began the project last October, for her birthday in December.... my idea was to embroider her favorite Ponies (from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic)

and it was just about complete in time for her birthday! Hooray! but then.... the gift started to grow into something more than 3 embroidered pony pictures :)   I hope to show more on this blog in frequent posts!I learned so very many new things!! by way of many mistakes :D

(Jesus said) I have glorified thee on the earth:
I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

Third Block

isaiah 40:28-

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, [that] the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? [there is] no searching of his understanding.

context

here is the second part of the Scripture and the quilt block for CQJP2013..............
here is the whole.........

to look at parts of the block, is not to see the whole block;  even more so, to read one quote from the Bible, is not to see the context, or chapter...
so keep reading on in this chapter from Mark 9:14-29 to see the context.
the same incident is described in Matthew 17:14-21.......

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things [are] possible to him that believeth. And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

first block

I have begun the challenge of making a crazy quilt block each month for this year, 2013.  I have never made a crazy quilt block before, and did not even know what a crazy quilt was...

so I did a bit of research, and then jumped in

No - there is nothing special about me that I am able to participate; I jumped on the opportunity to register, and lo and behold here I am!

Having fought the urge to redo the entire block, I have posted this up and can move on to the next block. This first block does not really look like a crazy quilt block (from what I can tell from looking at other CQ blocks) but I am learning.  Everyone starts somewhere, right?! :D  might as well start right where you are -

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

who hears your voice?

Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth: and with my song will I praise him...... Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance:  feed them also, and lift them up forever. psalm 28:6-9

God is so faithful - no matter what - and though times are bad, He is always good - cry out to Him! He is eager to hear, loves to show mercy, and ready to save ~
