Just One Crop....

originally posted June 14, 2011
Under The Mighty Oak http://www.etsy.com/shop/BehindthePicture

The Crop of Acorns

There came a man in days of old
To hire a piece of land for gold,
And urged his suit in accents meek:
"One crop alone is all I seek;
The harvest o'er, my claim I'll yield
And to its lord return the field."

The owner some misgivings felt,
And coldly with the stranger dealt;
But found his last objection fail,
And honeyed argument prevail;
So took the offered price in hand,
And for "one crop" leased out the land.

The wily tenant sneered with pride
And sowed the spot with acorns wide;
At first like tiny shoots they grew,
Then broad and wide their branches threw;
But long before those oaks could climb,
And finally reach their forest prime,
The cheated landlord moldering lay,
Forgotten, with his kindred clay.

O ye whose years, unfolding fair,
Are fresh with youth and free from care,
should vice or laziness desire
The garden of your souls to hire,
No bargains make - reject the suit;
Don't let one seed the soil pollute.

My child, the first approach beware;
With firmness break the evil snare
Lest, as the acorns grew and throve
Into a sun-excluding grove,
Thy sins, a dark o'ershadowing tree,
Shut out the light of heaven from thee.

showing a finish

handmade shawl/pattern by Michele DuNaier

I have been working on a crochet shawl in May, and it is now finished and blocked....

 the lace/eyelet edging is done in two layers....
there has been a lot going on ....all is well..and at the same time, depending on God every moment of every day, is something that is a learning process, no?

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: philippians 1:6

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. hebrews 13:21-22

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. 2 thessalonians 2:16-17

just think of it - Our Lord Jesus HIMSELF! and God even our Father! has given us everlasting consolation AND good hope through grace AND shall comfort our hearts AND establish us in every good word and work!  AND hath loved us...He loves us

June in July

June's CQJP block..posting in July :)  July's block photos are soon come!~

I have been participating in the Crazy Quilt Journal Project 2014 and participated in 2013 as well.  It has been a great help to me in practicing embroidery, organizing & planning, and (in my personal blocks)  meditating upon God and His Word - which inspires what I work on and what I do.

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him..." hebrews 2:3

Speaking of time,  do not neglect so great a salvation as is offered by Almighty God in His Son Jesus Christ.  How to stand in front of God and pay for our sins - we cannot.  We cannot even pay for one....we will be paying for sin under the wrath of God for eternity!  Please while to day is today, please turn to Christ Jesus and be saved~

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. romans 15:13

(ps I will gladly step up and speak out, that is why He has me here.)  :D

Cool Chèche

A Cool (summer weather, cool cotton/rayon) Shawl I crafted over the past two weeks!  It is a lovely pattern, easy to follow, available in the original French, and also an English translation.  The links may be found here on ravelry .

Big thank you to Katia64 for designing and sharing the pattern.

info on my version of the shawl is on ravelry as well

I was able to see someone very very special this week, that we had not seen for 12 years - I am so thankful to Almighty God for this wonderful blessing.  My heart is filled with love and joy, and though I miss this person so very terribly, these afflictions are so temporary, eternity is forever - which is why knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is more than a life or death question, it is a decision about where you have chosen to spend eternity....with Christ?...or with God's wrath....for eternity.

Please choose life in Christ! He and He alone paid for all your, my, the world's sins -

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 john 5:11-13

Together

Christmas reminds us
that God's promises
never fail -
He came to us,
to provide the way.
for us to be,
together forever with Him
right now

But God, who is rich in mercy,
for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us
together with Christ,
(by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together
in heavenly places
in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he might shew
the exceeding riches of his grace
in his kindness
toward us
through Christ Jesus    ephesians 2:4-7

Merry Christmas!~! every single day :)

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. romans 15:13

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 1 peter 1:8
