Block 3
In addition to the mystery quilt challenge for 2015, I am also working along with the "Tuesday Sampler" Challenge 2015, also provided *free* via quiltmania magazine on youtube (in French but one can easily follow only by watching - yes really!) :)
I started with block three, and will work on the first two blocks soon !
here is the finished block:
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more;
but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
john 14:19
....But now we see not yet all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. hebrews 2:8-9

Mystery Quilt "Colmar" 2015
![]() |
| Quiltmania magazine youtube |
I am excited to begin the mystery Quilt featured via the magazine Quiltmania, by the designer Nathalie Meànce. Though the templates and thorough instructions are found in the magazine issue itself, videos are posted on youtube in which Nathalie teaches and shows just about everything you need to know about the techniques.
The videos are posted first in French, and then in English.
(Quiltmania is also offering how-to videos for "Tuesday Sampler blocks" (in French) too, which I am eager to do as well)

the just for the unjust,
that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 1 peter 3:18
He gave me Himself, paid my sin debt against Our Glorious Good and Righteous God, and saved me; He gave me a voice,
to tell others that He came to seek and to save them....what will you say?

Now for the foundational joy! - work has begun on the crazy quilt journal project for 2014 ....
having learned from the participants in CQJP2013, thank you Margaret :) , that making the 12 blocks at the beginning helps a lot ...
I searched for a foundation upon which to start building the blocks... I have fabric but lacked a foundation, a base of colors, shades, etc......
Joy when I found RemarkablySew !
I purchased 8 step gradations of hand dyed cotton squares in coffee...and received the lovely package of neatly cut, pressed, washed and hand dyed fabric...
all ready to SEW!
A foundation of colors and piecing right in hand! ♥♥♥ Their selection of hand dyed fabric is beautiful and wonderful to build upon for a quilt, crazy quilt, textile art - :D They have all colors, and lovely batik too...& die cut/pre cuts!

What a difference having these pretty squares, all cut, washed, beautifully hand-dyed, has made - I can begin working from a steady foundation, and it has helped me focus on the task at hand; having a view of the future (completion at the end of the year), and a view of the blocks as they are embroidered and illustrated one by one over the coming weeks and months... stay tuned :)
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 corinthians 3:11
Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together. isaiah 48:13
