Added green

Forgot to update with a finished photo - now blocked.  The added green is a nice touch :)

Happy New Year~!

It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.  Lamentations 3:22-23

The finished "Garden" theme textile panel for the exchange sponsored by Emma. Title is "Light in the Garden".  Thank you for looking!

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Progress - of quilt block & more

Quiltmania/Colmar, quilt block 1 nearly finished

I have been working on the first quilt block via Quiltmania's youtube videos (colmar mystery quilt),
and have been learning and practicing appliqué, trapunto, embroidery embellishment and more..

some flower bud embellishment

and it all begun ( as projects do)  very humbly, as I pieced together fabrics...determined to use fabric which I already had on hand....

not knowing how it would look - or whether I had chosen properly...

but by just starting, and stepping out, and learning,  this  has become

this :)   life is like that, no? :)

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Web Secrets - TAST 37

stronger than Kevlar

This week's TAST stitch is the Pistil stitch - and it reminded me of........

a spider's web -  so I stitched this little piece using the pistil stitch for every part - the twigs and little buds too.....

Real spider's webs are incredible, and amazing -  and  spiders, capable of such astounding chemical and scientific processes, did not evolve from slime ...any more than my stitching did.
They were created and designed :)

Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, [unto thee] do we give thanks: for [that] thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. Psalm 75:1

the Pistil Stitch is one of many stitches I have learned by participating in the Take A Stitch Tuesday Challenge, hosted by sharon b. at pintangle  It is great for all levels of embroiderers, even beginners (like me )! So come along!

and thank you for visiting!
